Discover the Radicchio Route and enjoy italian tastes 

The winter is the season of the radicchio, this famous vegetable is the first one that took the italian IGP denomination, protect and geographical production.

You could start your trip from Treviso to visit the radicchio road. If you go out from the city following the natural course of the river, you could find the natural oasis of the Cevara windmill, a marshland zone of 25 hectares, one of the most important zone of the natural park of the Sile river.

Pursuing on this road you will reach Levada, where Villa Marcello stands, one symbol of the Palladio art. Going on over Fossalunga you will arrive in the ancient Roman Postumia and then in Barcon where Villa Pola stands. This buildings was made by Giorgio Massari the architect and has a Palladian influence and a painting by Gian Battista Canal. It has a rural barn and an appreciated winery.

After Barcon you could arrive to Fanzolo, where you could find Villa Emo, that represents a rising climax on your venetian traditional buildings tour. Villa Emo was projected by the own Andrea Palladio in 1560, commissioned by the noble Leonardo Emo with the precise purpose of creating a magnificent country residence. This building represents the harmony between the aristocratic view and the semplicity of the rural houses.

After Fanzolo you could reach Riese Pio X and then Castello di Godego. This route represents an area of considerable landscape interest where you could make an excursion. When you arrive at Castello di Godego you have to visit Villa Martini and Villa Priuli.

After Castello di Godego you could reach Castelfranco. The first buildings that you could appreciate when you enter in the city is the clock tower and the crenellated walls typical of the medieval story. This city mixes many architectonical styles and two of the most important are the cathedral and the accademic teatre.
